Till now we have discussed about acne and its affect upon the people. Here we will discuss about the causes of acne. There are vivid causes of acne. Though the exact cause of acne is not known, most of the doctors consider it is a direct effect of a variety of factors. One of these factors is the raise in the androgens (a kind of hormones) during puberty. Androgens are hormones, and can cause the enlargement and over stimulation of the sebaceous glands in people with acne. Exactly why some people get acne and some don’t, is not fully known. It is known to be partly hereditary. Several factors are known to be linked to acne. Some of the causes of acne are given below:
- Hormonal activity, as such menstrual cycles and puberty
- Stress, through augmented yield of hormones through the adrenal glands.
- Hyperactive sebaceous glands, secondary to the three hormone sources above.
- Amassing of dead skin cells.
- Bacteria in the skin pores, to which the body becomes 'allergic'.
- Skin irritation or scraping of any sort will activate swelling.
- Anabolic steroids usage.
- Medications containing halogens (i.e. iodides, bromides, chlorides,), barbiturates, lithium, or androgens.
- Contact with high intensity of chlorine compounds, mainly chlorinated dioxins, can cause severe, long-lasting acne, known as Chloracne.Greasy foods and dirty skin have often been blamed for acne, but there is little evidence supporting these as direct causes of acne. Acne is also not contagious. You might also like to know about the symptoms of acne. So in the next section I am going to tell about the symptoms of the disease.

Ability To Quit Smoking May Depend On A.D.H.D. Symptoms
Tobacco use is more prevalent and smoking cessation less likely among persons with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (A.D.H.D.) In a study of smokers with attention deficit and hyperactivity symptoms, those who exhibited elevated hyperactivity and impulsivity, with or without inattention, showed lower quit rates after 8 weeks than those with inattention symptoms alone or those without the A.D.H.D. symptoms.
ADHD Medications Do Not Cause Genetic Damage In Children
In contrast to recent findings, two of the most common medications used to treat attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) do not appear to cause genetic damage in children who take them as prescribed, according to a new study by researchers at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and Duke University Medical Center.
